We also had her bday party with the fam. Turbo party. I made a monkey cake and some peanut butter-banana cupcakes that were pretty dang good. They were even better the next day because the banana flavor had developed a little more. Here are some pictures:

Anyway, we have the children's primary program at church on Sunday, with a practice on Saturday, plus a birthday party to attend on Saturday, and then we are camping next weekend. Busy.
In other news, I have been watching "Dark Shadows." Not the original soap opera from the sixties, but the tv drama revival from 1991. It is so goodly bad or badly good depending on how you look at it. It was only 1 season, so I am left hanging with questions. Does anyone remember this show besides me? Barnabus the vampire? Angelique the banshee voodoo queen? Trust me, it is campy greatness. PLUS PLUS PLUS, Johnny Depp is slated to star as Barnabus in the Dark Shadows movie set to start filming in February. So jump on the bandwagon now, peeps! I think I'll be renting the 60's original soap if I can get it.

Congrats to Charlotte! That is a totally awesome cake you made - you have some skills. And Dark Shadows - no - never heard of it, sounds too creepy for me.
You pulled out the baking SKILLZ for that cake! And you were so nonchalant about it @ the gorcery store!
Dark Shadows...so much campy greatness for mockery fodder! Good times. ;)
That cake is so cute! And I want the recipe for the peanut butter chocolate banana goodness of which you speak of , please. (Seriously, when you get a second I would love it!) Also I forgot to comment on the straight A's which is freakin awesome and that's a beautiful picture of you at the baptism.
Curse you for introducing me to dark shadows!! No, seriously, I curse you from beyond the grave to be bitten by a vampire. They just don't write story lines like that anymore.
Now where are my lab coat and lensless glasses? I've got some science experiments to perform.
Ashley - here is the link: http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,166,154166-232198,00.html
I didn't add any flavoring to the vanilla icing, but I did the rest as it said. Super yummy.
Sarah, if you wear lenless glasses, I will give you a million dollars. (Extra money for smoking in the lab or with a patient.)
And Ashley - I am no longer 100%. Frowny face. I made a 94 and an 89, so my average is now only 99%. It's eating at me, dude.
Congratulations to Charlotte! I'm sad I wasn't here for her baptism. I love the picture of the 3 of you - what a gorgeous trio!
My sister and I used to watch the original Dark Shadows when it was on originally. Yes, I'm that old. My sister was more into it than I was. So very, very campy! I would love to see Johnny Depp as Barnabas!!
Congratulations Charlotte. We all wish we could have been there (and tried your cake too) :)
Andrew, Rachel, Miriam
um...recipe, please?
Wish we could have been there! Totally darling cake! I'm commissioning Geoff to come up with with something cute Katherine's next week. I have as much creativity as a troll! Congratulations again to Charlotte! I hope she enjoyed being the center of attention.
