Update in photos

Here's the first kid who had to give me a positive statement after she boobed and crapped about homework:

She sat their a full 9 minutes (I timed her on my phone) before she begrudgingly mumbled, "I like ice cream."

Here's the second kid who had to give me a positive statement after he moaned and groaned about dinner:

He only sat for 4 minutes before he said, "Ice cream."

That is apparently the go-to for positives with my kids. Charlotte didn't have to sit in any sort of time-out before shouting out "ice cream."

Liz and I actually, factually made the 14-layer chocolate cake. It tastes so much better than it looks. And it looks awesome.

Y'all see how it bleeds chocolate? Yummmmmmmmmm!

Love it ... ice cream. You'll have to make them come up with something new next time.

The cake looks DELISH!!! I have recipe for a profoundly decadent chocolate cake with chocolate ganache smothered in between the layers and covered in chocolate mousse icing ... let me know if you're interested.

I agree that you should make them come up with something new next time. No using ice cream over and over! Of course, you might have kids sitting there for a long time!

That cake looks amazing! All that yummy chocolate icing! I can't believe you cut those layers into so many thin slivers. And they look pretty even too. I am very impressed.

I am totally impressed by that cake - and a little jealous - mean of you to post pictures and not share. There's my positive and then negative - is that backwards?

Laura, there is NO WAY we cut those layers! We baked each one in a separate disposable pan. Labor intensive, yes, but SO YUMMY!!!

I think if I had to come up with something positive I would have to say "14 layer chocolate cake!" but ice cream works too.
I had one child in particular who is especially negative and often times have to make her keep a gratitude journal!
