I am addicted to sugar. (Also blogging, but that isn't causing weight gain.) SO, I am making a HUGE leap forward. I am finishing the last two unleaded cokes in my fridge and NOT BUYING ANY MORE.
Oh you heard me.
I am going to drink water (ugh).
So, for those of you who are aware of the 4 to 6 cans I drink a day, you know how tough it's going to be.
That's it.

Good luck! keep us posted. I have given up caffeine/ soda more times than I can count. It calls to me sometimes, "Leslie, Drink Me." I don't want to seem rude, so... I drink it! Lo and behold it responds, "Thank you for partaking. Let's do this again REAL soon!(Like later today)". It is difficult for me to stay off of the stuff (especially when I hear the voices). Yeah...I am tired. Better stop posting, I sound a tad tipsy.
Good luck, Jen! Do we need to avoid you for a few days while you go through sugar withdrawal?
I don't drink my sugar, but I sure like eating it - in lots of forms! Why do food items with sugar have to taste so darn good?!? Why can't broccoli taste as good as chocolate chip cookies? Why can't water taste as good as a sugary coke?
Sigh.
Good luck! Diet Coke is my beverage of choice. I know I shouldn't drink it, but I don't feel guilty drinking it or water so I keep a glass of either at my desk. If I could get that to be only water - it would be great - I just don't have your willpower.
Ok, some very important suggestions if you are going to ONLY water. Definitely go out and buy yourself a water filter thing like Brita or Pur. Here is why I like the ones you fill and put in the fridge - because your water is so freaking good and COLD! Cold is very important to me! I think it might help instead of drinking straight from the tap where even the cold is just room temperature. It also tastes so much better when its filtered. And (I actually don't know if this adds sugar or not) they have little things you can add to the water to flavor it like lemon. Well obviously you can add lemon, but what I mean is that you can buy them to go with the water filter. I haven't tried them yet. Good luck! I really should join you in this, but I'm not ready, I need a little more time.
It will be hard Jen but you can totally do it. You are a strong woman.
Dusty gave up his "habit" a little over a month ago and he has lost 10 pounds! I wish I drank soda so that I could "give it up!"
Jen, it's Jon. this has nothing to do with your rantings. I just wanted to let you know abot this. http://bigchristmas.blogspot.com/
It's my new Blog.
I got up to 5 to 6 cans of Dr Pepper for a while here at school just to make it through the day. It stopped being effective to keep me awake, so I went cold turkey. People couldn't believe I did it. I only suffered horrible headaches and vertigo for 3-4 days... You can do it!!
Gary
The great thing about your new "drinking water goal" is that your skin will be even MORE flawless and lovely than it already is. Own it girl.
Oh my gosh! Its been 4 days since your last blog! Are you doing ok? Has the lack of sugar driven you off the deep edge?? haha Hopefully this is all in jest! =O)
