She had a tap recital, and she did the whole thing, and she was good at it, and I was a little teary. I was waiting until I had pictures, but I don't take pictures. I'll have to get them off my family at some point.
Anyway, the point is that she LOVED the stage. L.O.V.E.D. Started a tiny little smile as soon as it was time to line up backstage. And this after worrying for months about how scary it would be with everyone watching her. Man, she is itching for another dance. She wants to continue lessons now that she got a taste for the show.
She sat the rest of the recital demanding to return to the stage. She was waiting for curtain call, but she did not think that should be at the end. She was only one of two ducks that stuck it out to the end, but she insisted. There was no way she was going to miss the big finale. She even got roses. Born diva.
She reminds me of me. Yipes.
Incidentally, I was a skunk. So was Sarah.

Way to go, Claire! Bravo! That would've been so adorable to see!
I'll post the pictures on my blog!
i love it. hearing about claire helps me get prepared for what lies ahead with tatum. i think they're alike in a lot of respects.
Aww Claire reminds me of me a lot when I was little. I loved the stage!! I was a penguin. :D
Did you record it? I wish I could have gone!!
Adorable, little Claire. She is so cute and I'm sure she was the cutest duck. Go Diva-Claire!
It's not every young diva who has such an enthusiastic fanbase!
I was a pumpkin. My first of many experiences with performance anxiety (though a costume does help).
Claire is awesome. I love that girl.
Jen,
This is Jessi's sister, Fauner. I have been reeeeeally blue lately, so Jessi sent me some links to her favorites of your posts. Honestly, I think you and I should be best friends. Come on, admit it, Jessi is just way too cheerful all the time. Danged Silver-lining Girl.
Thanks for being so honest and funny and self-aware, and not bragging about everything under the sun and not posting pictures of how crafty and cute everything in your life is. Yours is a blog I can truly read and not hate myself.
I won't even go into how much you and I have in common. Maybe I should be "tested" for bi-polar. (My therapist years ago said borderline personality disorder, but I don't know if that's accurate. I know that I at least am slammed by depression.)
Blog on.
Of COURSE it is Jessi's sister Fauner! I know of no other! I'm really very flattered that you like the ol' blog. It is cathartic for me, and, frankly, I just cut out 18 of the most pathetic musical notes for the Primary Activity Day tomorrow, so I couldn't possibly blog crafty or cute.
Personality disorder? Isn't that the people who don't believe in mental illness?
