Slight fever, possibly rising. That means I'm under the weather mentally. Stuff is bugging me. I'm impatient. I'm cranky. I'm dirty. Physically, I mean, not in any other sense. I just watched "He's Just Not That Into You," and I'm annoyed. Who knows why? Those people were stupid. I almost had to draw a diagram to keep the relationships straight. The AppleTV kept freezing. I hate Ben Affleck. Jennifer Aniston bugs. It surprises me that I was annoyed by these people when I love "The Family Stone," which is full of the worst people. Diane Keaton - ugh. Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes. But that's not just what I mean. The characters in the movie were awful people. Mean, petty, judgemental, unsupportive. Loved it. Watched it six times when I first rented it. Sobbed and sobbed. I was pregnant then, but I still cry now. Oh, I'm still talking about "The Family Stone."
Anyway, that's about it. The switch from stumbling-around-tired to buzzing-awake has flipped, but I'm going to go read in bed b/c there is nothing on tv but the Golden Girls, and I've already watched 2 episodes. It ain't no Murder, She Wrote, that's for sure. Oh wait, shower first. Can't do it. See ya tomorrow. (I'm talking to the shower.)
Wait a minute - I like Justin Long and Ginnifer Goodwin in "He's Just Not That Into You." Cute.

You should see Up. That movie was fantastic and no annoying celebrities in it. I'm sorry things are getting tough. You are in my prayers.
The Golden Girls is a great show. Don't knock my "Girls".
I'm glad for the heads up about "He's just not that into you" -- I keep wanting to get it On Demand but something is holding me back.
I just watched "He's just not that into you" the other day and it totally bugged me. Firstly, it felt like it was 5 hours long. It was never ending. And you forgot to mention Scarlet Johanssen, the most annoying one of the whole bunch. I think she picks scripts according to how many times she gets to get naked. I realized while watching that movie a very interesting thing about "white" culture. In "black" movies, say Tyler Perry's for instance, eveybody gets what you want them to get in the end. The cheater is always the bad guy and he/she loses everything in the end, family, friends, respect, job. The person who was wronged always finds a better relationship, better job and enjoys greater success. In "white" movies, the cheater is just someone who is honest and real enough to realize they are not in love and brave enough to do what they need to to find happiness. They are just following their heart. It's disgusting. If you want to feel better watch Tyler Perry's The family that Preys. That movie is awesome.
I wasn't even done yet but I realized my comment was too long. The first time I saw The Family Stone I hated it. It reminded me of all the movies from the 80's when the families were so dysfunctional and it their homes were always dark. But now I really like it. I think the only reason is Luke Wilson. I love that guy. "Not the jacket, not the jacket"!
Totally agree with Sarah about Scarlett Johansson. She drives me nuts --especially in that movie!! Making it look like she was somehow wronged because he slept with his wife? And then she leaves him not cuz he cheated but because he smoked?! Yeah that movie was crazy. I did like the Justin Long-Ginnifer Goodwin part, and I have to admit I liked the Ben-Jennifer part , too. Sorry. But I hope you get to feeling better soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I was totally going to rent that movie, but now I think I'll just stick to my DVRed Monks - I have like 40 left to watch. Hope you feel better soon - if it helps I thought you looked great yesterday when I saw you.
"He's Just not that into you" did Suck!!! I was a good little movie goer and read the book before I saw the movie. You probably already know, but the book is non-fiction and talks all about relationships and how women need to get some self-respect and stop going for the cheater or the jerk bag who gives them a booty call. I loved the book! I think every women should read it and just get the concept maybe not every single word. Its not the bible. Anyway, I think the reason the movie bugged is because its ALL WRONG!! All of them do stupid things and they all wind up with the stupid guy! Brian defends each couple and why they should be together anyway, but its just all wrong. I was very upset that the author made a cameo in a movie that was so OFF his theory!
I liked that movie! It was entertaining! I haven't seen a good movie in so long that I guess my standards are pretty low.
I'm still laughing from Sarah's post! I LOVE Family Stone- I think it's so funny and quirky. But I HATE Sarah Jessica Parker and Diane Keaton, too! So weird. And I still don't really get He's Just Not That Into You... it WAS really, really long...but I totally watched the whole thing so I was obviously entertained enough to not watch my TIVO'd Deadliest Catch from last week. hmmmmph.
Jamee, she didn't leave b/c he smoked. She left b/c time and time again he lied straight to her face. That was the part she could not accept. When he told her he had had an affair the thing she respected was that he came clean on his own, he didn't lie about it. But when she asked him something over and over and he could look her right in the eye and lie she knew their was nothing in their marriage worth saving. That was the one part of the movie I liked.
And Carrie,
I am right there with you on wondering why the movie was based on a book that tells you not to do any of those things and then in the movie all of those things turn out perfectly. Greg Behrendt is a sell-out.
I forgot about Scarlett Johansson. I must have blanked her b/c I can't stand her that much. In anything. Including real life. And I usually like Drew Barrymore, but she was the one telling Scarlett to go for the married guy, so, forget it.
I also liked Jennifer Connelly in the movie. I like her in everything.
OH OH! And (since everyone says they aren't going to see it, I'm going to just give crap away) the way he told her he slept with someone IN THE MIDDLE OF HOME DEPOT? Gag me. Plus, it sounded like he did it once. That he was so sorry and just couldn't lie. And THEN we see him still sleeping with her after that. Stupid white cheaters. I'm renting The Family That Preys.
And The Family Stone. "You've got a freak flag. You're just not flyin' it."
I saw "He's Not That In To You" on a 14 hour flight to Australia - so trapped and sucky movie. I think it might be what put me over the edge mentally.
Jennifer - aside from the movie reviews - feel better. I am thinking about you.
Im glad I didnt waste my dollar at redbox on the movie then...Family stone is fantastic you got me hooked for sure. Im sorry you've subjected to crappiness, feel better!
I love Tyler Perry. He also puts a little bit o' Jesus in all his movies. Also I sometimes think Gary is a younger, male, white version of Madea.
Can I just say that Tyler Perry seems to be the ONLY current mainstream (box office success) director that is putting together stories with happy endings to good desicions. Name one other "black movie" by say Spike Lee, Denzel, or John Singleton that are any different from us whities! I'm just sayin. Know what I'm sayin? It ain't about Tyler's color, its about the good man that he seems to be.
I'm not talking about gang bangin movies doofus, I'm talking about love stories. But I can name another one for you if you like. Waiting to Exhale.
Sarah, I stand corrected. What can I say
i didn't think i'd like "the family stone" because i can't stand sarah jessica parker, but i was pleasantly surprised. and what's wrong with claire danes? i think she's great.
Jamie, what's wrong with Claire Danes? Just let me imitate her for 30 seconds, and you'll never have to ask again. Besides that, her character in the show is horrible. She is a bad sister. Completely unsupportive. And that is way before falling for her sister's fiance.
