I've got a love-hate cycle with the garbage on the boob tube. I go for months not being able to even watch the previews. Can't force myself through five minutes of a show. Am disgusted at the idea of them being entertainment.
And then, today comes. Today, my erstwhile trash has become my treasure! I don't know what causes the switch, but switch it did. I watched The Real Housewives of New Jersey which I've not done at all. I mean, I gave it a shot when it first began, but I couldn't even do one episode then. Furthermore, today I was totally into two episodes of the horrible Millionaire Matchmaker. It's awful. I don't know how long it has been on, but I've never even tried to watch it before. So, I don't know why I was all over it today. It's not good. Don't try it. But I'll watch it again.
Bravo is the channel for trash tv. They've got everything. Well, not EVERYTHING. I have a rating system, apparently, that allows me to grade Bravo trash at the upper end of the scale. VH1 has the scummiest trash, and I will not watch it. Go figure.
Oh, oh, wait! I forgot - I also was glued to NYC Prep today. On the Bravo trash scale, it's at the lower end. It's a bunch of decadent, disgustingly rich, undisciplined, megalomaniac teenagers. It's like a terrible movie full of terrible people. Like, what was that movie with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillipe that was a retelling of "Dangerous Liasons?" Let me google it... Oh - Cruel Intentions. It's like that. FYI - both movies are R. I watched the first one in the middle of my R-watching era. I saw the second one on Saturday Cinema. You people really need to spend some low-quality time with Saturday Cinema.

The only show I watched on bravo was the one with Tim Gunn, but I don't think it's on anymore. Not trashy enough I guess. sometimes I get sucked into a little bit of an episode of real house wives and then feel disgusted, ashamed, and thankful to be me all at the same time. That show makes me glad I'm not rich.
Tim Gunn is on Project Runway. But you're right. It moved channels (Lifetime, I think) and will begin in August. I don't watch the new one, The Fashion Show, so I didn't put it on the scale.
I just don't get reality TV. I have no interest in watching any of it.
I prefer Criminal Minds, with its murder and mayhem.
It was the other tim Gunn one where he showed normal people how to dress. It was similar to what not to wear.
I'm with Laura - the only reality tv I watch is American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. And I never ever watch Live tv - if it isn't on my DVR, I just don't watch it. I prefer drama trash like Army Wives.
Tim Gunn's Guide to Style! I loved watching that show!! It was almost like a spin off of what not to wear but was more involved with changing the entire persons outlook on life and not just their clothes. I love Tim. I am totally with ya on the cycle Jen- I dont know what always brings you back to it but when its good its good!

Bravo is an unemployed girls best friend. I can't get enough of Real Housewives (New York and New Jersey, only) and Millionaire Matchmaker. I've also started watching ABCFamily, which has some doozies, too! I recommend Secret Life to anyone who needs some bad acting, bad storylines, and uncomfortable subjects in their life.
I'm so ashamed about the trash I get sucked into that I can't even comment about it, but I really love your charting skills.

I have a real weakness for Project Runway. Last year I really wanted Suede to stay on, mostly because I loved to hear Suede talk about himself in third person.
before my mom got sick, she and i watched america's top model for an entire day straight because they were playing a whole season in one day. i've never felt so idle and addicted in my life!
Ok - I am so hating right now because I am drowning underwater in studying about all the many neuro diseases you can get and you are talking about the boob tube. I so MISS watching TV!! Watch some more for me!
