Beach List

List of things to take to the beach:
  1. The usual stuff (towels, flip flops, crap like that)
  2. SPF 50+ because I'm either white or red - never tan
  3. Cooler, containing:
  • Oscar Mayer thick-cut bologna
  • white bread, real squishy kind
  • French's yellow mustard
  • Crunchy Cheetos (I don't do puffs)
  • Those lemon sandwich cookies that are brandless, know what I'm talking about?
  • Mother's iced oatmeal cookies (these are actually really good when they get a little damp and soft)
  • green grapes
  • grape soda
  • Capri-Suns
  • Payday candy bars. no chocolate, no problem!

4. Handy tote with the following books:

  • 1 chick lit book. I like Joanna Fluke and Hester Browne.
  • 1 crime thriller. I wish it was a new Linda Fairstein.
  • 1 of historical significance. You know, something classicish. Maybe "The Chosen" or "My Name is Asher Lev" by Chaim Potok.
  • 1 trashy magazine like US Weekly. If I were trying to look legit, I'd take People.
  • 2 home decorating magazines of any variety as long as I haven't read them.

5. A radio. Oh, yes, I need a little country and a little rock n' roll! And who can go to the beach without Jimmy Buffet?!

WHO'S READY FOR THE BEACH?!!!

So I've been thinking about this beach thing. I think my perfect beach day would be just me, the towel and sunblock, and a book - at this point probably any book. As long as the kids don't come I'm good! Of course I'd probably get hot...then I'd have to go somewhere for ice cream. Mmmmm...chocolate and vanilla swirl custard! I think I'd probably end up eating it inside.

This list was perfect. My sister Stacy is coming, and we're hitting the beach for the 4th. This is how I am: I always forget towels. Not this time! I have your list. And I l.o.v.e balogna sandwiches. And mustard! I am currently in love with Gulden's yellow mustard. Man, I could drink it straight. Happy 4th, Miss Most Awesome.
