I am completely and totally into Webkinz. I know I've mentioned it before. But now, it's full-blown adoration. I am worse than my children and nieces and nephews. I am worse than anyone I've ever met. It is SERIOUS fun.
To get the lowdown, take the online tour. You don't have to watch the whole thing; you will get the gist of it pretty quickly. I used to play Charlotte's account. Then, in a stroke of evil genius, I got all three of the kids a Webkinz for Easter. Being Charlotte's third, she was very pleased. Claire got her first, so she was pretty ecstatic. And Gabe? Well, what does he know? He got a stuffed fish, and I got my very own online Webkinz pet!

Let me introduce Huckleberry. My, uh, Gabe's Webkinz. Okay, okay. This isn't the bad part. I mean, it's bad that I play games all day and night, sure. But I also send gifts and emails to my girls, and they love it. They run in saying, "Mom! Gabe sent me a skateboard!" or whatever it is I sent. I'm always like, "Huh? OHHH! Yeah, isn't he sweet?" Okay. I can see how ridiculous this is. Folks, it gets worse.
Today I discovered the eStore!! THIS is the place to be. I want everything there! It's stuff you can't get on regular old Webkinz. It's exclusive. Like, a four seasons tree that CHANGES WITH THE SEASONS! Are you reading me!? If it is winter here in the real world, the branches are bare. They grow leaves during the spring, automatically! I am sitting here thinking, "Charlotte would DIE!"
This stuff is nice, guys. Inground swimming pools, retro couches, tents! However, you have to pay real money for this stuff. I mean, you buy store points with a credit card, then spend the points... you get the picture. So, even I know that this crosses a line. I can't do that. I won't do it. But I want you to know that I want this stuff! I want to stick it in the girls' rooms and watch their faces when they see it!
I've gone this far; I'm holding nothing back. I would also love this stuff in my own Webkinz room. (By the way, Huckleberry's room is an underwater room. Only fish owners get them. He swims. When the girls come over to visit, they have air bubbles on their heads like Sandy Cheeks on "Spongebob Squarepants.") I like to sit little Huckleberry on his couch. I like to dress him. I really like digging for gems. You only get one chance a day, you know.
OKAY! I KNOW! You don't have to tell me!
If you want one for your birthday, just let me know; I won't give you away. We could email each other...

You've already got me playing Bubble Town and Digby's Donuts. I'm don't think I could handle Webkinz too!
Our long stake day is tomorrow. (I'm so excited.) Do you want me to drive us both again?
That should read "I", not "I'm". I hate when I make mistakes like that.
so the tree is real then??? or online or i don't get it. explain it again.
Laura - yes please. I can drive since I have to take Gabe. My mom wants him, for some strange reason.
The tree: It is an online tree. It sits in the online yard, and it changes with the real live seasons in our real live world. When it is summer for us humans, it will be all blossomy online. When it is fall for us humans, it will be all orangy and lose it's leaves online. It's fantastic.
If it's easier for you to drive, that's fine. I'll be waiting whenever you come by.
This is a totally new world to me. Its like you are speaking another language. Today someone brought up Twitter and I was like "what the crap?" I am out of the whole web world - someday I'll have to get in it!
Hey if you ever need to buy the "kids" new webkinz, we carry them at hallmark and I get a discount ;)
I used to play on webkinz. Not as much as you do obviously, but it is pretty fun. I had a pink poodle named Champagne. Haha
so you have to pay money for a tree on the computer?
not that i'm anti tree changing seasons of the real world but also on the computer. I'm just sayin.
and all I saw was a preview for the Jane Eyre BBC one you were speakin of and I'm in love. (just thought i'd add that. )
Gary also loves digging for gems. lorin will go to do it and he already did it. Those games are addicting and webkinz is really cute.
I personally am addicted to the pizza game... I pretty much have it memorized! lol Oh but I still can't master that Mexican Bean game. BUT still fun! ;)
I have never played a Webkins...thanks for explaining this phenom to me and giving me a peek into their world!
I never have used the word "eff", but I feel that this is the most appropriate time I will ever be able to whip it out.
WHAT THE EFF?
I guess it doesn't really matter what, or why or how, you are just one funny lady and if your latest passion is both entertaining to you and hilarious to me - rock on. Your blog is the bright spot in my dull day. I am such a candidate for webkinz addiction it is scary and therefore I will stay far far away.
You ARE looney! And I love it!! It is 1 am and I am ALMOST certain that you are up right now, playing webkinz. BTW-since we haven't talked of late, I need the scoop on bookclub from when I was OOT. Later LOONEY!
hilarious!
