Tag to relieve Lori's boredom

5 things I can see without getting up
  • Skein of very orange yarn - Charlotte and I have been doing Cat's Cradle and other string games for the past few days. I'm very proud of myself.
  • IKEA boxes holding a wall cabinet that I have not put up. I keep waiting for the office floors to come out and all that.
  • Grover family portrait from 2006. Fortunately, it's blurry from here so I don't criticize myself.
  • Rolled up rug. Same as #2.
  • Two mirrors. I guess that kinda negates my feelings about #3.
What are you wearing right now?
  • Khaki capris, flip flops, t-shirt, and, amazingly, a bra.
Coke or Pepsi?
  • Coke you sillies!
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
  • Memorizing all the presidents of the United States in order. I actually haven't started yet, but I obsess about it in my thoughts.
What would you most love to be doing right now?
  • Sleeping. I'm bone tired. But I really would like to be sleeping on the beach.
What websites do you always visit when you go online?
  • Google mail
  • All y'all's blogs
  • Webkinz (I don't want to hear it)
  • MSN games (Bubble Town is the Bomb!)
  • Hotmail
What was the last thing you bought?
  • Thinking... thinking... I think it was earrings. Not that I've worn them.
What would you like to be listening to right now?
  • Myself snoring.
What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
  • "It Takes Two" from the musical Hairspray. I don't know why - I don't really like it.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
  • Ability to start and stop time.
What is your favorite weather and why?
  • Today. Sunny, not real hot, no mosquitoes.
If you could play any musical instrument, what would it be?
  • Guitar. I like that it is portable. I like that it can rock out a little easier than the piano.
What book are you reading now?
  • "Notes from Underground" by Dostoyevsky. Love it. Love most Russian literature that I've read, but not "Anna Karenina." I could not sympathize with the heroine.
Your dream career?
  • Copy editor. I wanna red pen!

I think it is so funny that you obsess about memorizing all the president but don't actually do it. The thing is I am so lazy I wouldn't even think about memorizing all the presidents. At least you want to.

Ahh, I got up and here was a gift just for me!

I go through the States in alphabetical order to try and fall asleep - to that horrible tune you learn in school (or maybe they don't teach that anymore) - it never helps, but once I start, I can't stop until I have all 50. Thanks to you I will start obsessing about the US Presidents tonight!

I love red pens, too. And I love atlases. When we are on road trips, I like to memorize the nicknames of all the states. Then, when I meet someone, for example, from Missouri, I say..."ahh yes, the show me state." Good times.

I got half way through the presidents with a song I made up. It's the same melody I used for the periodic table. I recently finished Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. It's the only Russian literature I've read, but I sure enjoyed it.
